But anyway, they seemed to have expanded out a little. They are now selling their branded marinades and sauces, with peri peri in it :D Its... a special type of pepper, I think. African. Very hot. Nando's is actually a Portuguese restaurant, I think. And their chicken is HOT! As in very very spicy. It comes in different strengths and I can barely take the 2nd mildest one. (The mildest is just lemon and herbs) But yeah, back to the marinade. Its rating is "HOT" which is the second highest.
Oh, why *am* I talking about the marinade, you ask? Because Hadi, in a stroke of "creativity", decided to "make" "Nando's" roast chicken. (Do you get the feeling that there's a bit too many quotation marks in that sentence? :P Anyway.) You just follow the instructions on the bottle (which you can just see in the picture ;) ) Basically, you marinate the chicken for as long as you can. The restaurant marinates for 24 hours, actually. But they're using whole chicken, so if you're using chicken pieces, you can probably get away with using a lot less.
Unfortunately, while the chicken was quite yummy, it was barely hot enough for me to taste. Also, it tasted nothing like Nando's chicken, which Hadi thought was a shame. Justin seemed to like it well enough though.
And that's it for today. Disappointed? Are you about to cry from the shortness of it? ;) Oh well, too bad. I just thought I'd put up another post, since its been awhile. Its just that the last few dinners have been... uninspiring... :(
Quote of the day: Recipe - a series of instructions for preparing ingredients you didn't buy, in utensils you don't own, to make a dish the cat wouldn't eat.
I actually did that once. :( A dish so bad that even the cats ignored it. :cries:
