Chicken at Random

Hadi tried, he really did. He defrosted this chicken way early, planning to marinate it overnight. But he said that once his laundry was done, he forgot about the chicken. And then the next morning, he was too much in a rush to get the chicken marinated, so the chicken was sitting in the fridge the whole time. No point in defrosting it early then, but that's Hadi for you. Always changing his mind, always ... random, as this dish illustrates. :P So, here we go!

What you need:
3 pieces chicken thighs
Chicken stock - concentrate
(Vegetarian) Bovril
Turmeric
Tex's chicken powder

What you do:
  1. Marinate the chicken with the stock, bovril and turmeric for as long as you can. Hadi rubbed the mixture under the skin of the chicken.
  2. Sprinkle some Tex's chicken powder over the top of the chicken.
  3. Bake in a 180 C oven for about 40 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
Rubbing the seasonings under the skin of the chicken was a valiant attempt by Hadi to try and infuse more flavour into the chicken. He also sprinkled some Tex's chicken powder for the exact same reason, since that powder is very... *ahem* potent, haha. Using the powder on its own would have been even better, in my opinion, haha. Tex's chicken never needs marination. ;)

Hadi picked the ingredients out of our cupboards at random, hence the name. :P

But anyway, this tasted like a typical roast, salty and chicken-y, hehe. Because our chicken pieces this time were absurdly small, we also had a serunding (meat floss) side-dish, hehe. I love serunding with hot rice, yummy~! In this case, I actually think that beef serunding tastes better than chicken. :D

And yeah, that's it for tonight. Nothing too much to say about it, heh. :P

Quote of the day: If I sing when I cook, the food is going to be happy.
